How to create a sitemap in Miro

How to create sitemaps (a visual representation of website structure) in the Miro software.

Instructions:

  1. Navigate to Miro.
  2. Sign in through Google using your team’s email.
  3. Locate the template called "Site Map TEMPLATE - MAKE A COPY" and make a copy. Name your new document “[Client Name] Site Map”.
  4. If you are using Miro for the first time, watch the video below to understand how to easily make edits to the template.
  5. Change the colors on the board to match the client’s branding. Go the extra mile by changing the text font to be on brand too.
  6. If the client has an existing website, navigate around it and pay attention to the drop down menu. Think of the site map as a visual of what we want the new drop menu to be. It doesn’t necessarily need to map out the entire website and show which pages link to each other. This will happen naturally and trying to map everything out will only make this task feel more complicated.
  7. Summary: The purpose of this assignment is to develop a better understanding of the client’s website and identify any areas for improvement. A meticulous sitemap is better than a minimalist one, BUT don’t make it complicated!
