How to send a welcome email to new employees.
Hello [Name]!
We're thrilled for you to join Green House on [Day], [Date]! We hope you enjoy the experience, and we look forward to getting to know you more.
A few things to keep in mind for your first day:
- Please start your day by stopping by the People and Cultures Office in the Hall of Flags with one of the following sets of IDs to finalize your onboarding paperwork if you haven't already:
- U.S. Passport OR
- Driver's License + Birth Certificate OR
- Driver's License + Social Security Card
- This step MUST be completed before starting at GH. Please let me know if you have any questions.
- We will meet in Green House, KB106
- Find me when you get in, and I'll find you a seat next to me to go through the initial onboarding procedures
- Dress is casual as long as your clothing isn't revealing or offensive
- You'll be meeting with the director, so please have your schedule ready for when you plan to be in GH. As a reminder, here are the expectations:
- Minimum 15 hours each week, maximum 20 hours
- Minimum 3-hour time blocks in GH at a time
- GH is open from 8-5:30, Monday through Friday
- Remote work is not available unless otherwise approved by the director
Please respond to this email with two things:
- The day and time you plan to start (though Monday is your official start date, if you are not available for Mondays due to scheduling conflicts, you can start another day in the same week)
- Your anticipated schedule in Green House for the semester
- For example: M: 10-2, TH: 11-4, F: 2-5. This schedule should reflect when you plan to be in Green House. As a reminder, the schedule is not set by us (you have the liberty to set it yourself following the parameters listed above). Once you have determined your schedule, you are expected to be in Green House during those times for the entirety of the semester.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
Looking forward to having you,
