Once we launch a client's new website, we will lose their old website so it is important that you screenshot your client's website before that happens, so that we can have the oportunity to show a before and after. You could put it on your personal portfolio or LinkedIn!
Later, follow these same steps after lauching the new website to capture the after.
Instructions:
- Go to the website and locate the page you want to screenshot. (Most likely the home page or another other pages you think would be fun to capture) Make sure you scroll down the page and make sure the page is fully loaded.
- Right click on the page and click “inspect” in the menu
- In the top left of the Chrome Inspector you'll see a little desktop/phone icon. Click that and a bar will appear on the top of the webpage.
- In the middle of the bar you can type in the dimensions of the screen you want to stimulate. Enter 1920 x 1080 for a desktop monitor.
- In the right side of that bar is three dots, in that menu you can select a full page screenshot.
- Click on the file too look and make sure it captured everything. Sometimes it misses some of the content and you have to retry.
