Learn how to create a new case study (now called portfolio) on Green House's website.
Step 1. Begin the case study document on Wordpress
- Go the Wordpress (backend) of Green House's website
- Click on Portfolio (left side of the screen)
- Click the Add New Item box at the top of the window
- Write the client company's title in the Add Title box
- Click Publish to save the document
Step 2. Edit and set featured image
- Find the company logo
- You can access this through their Brandbay, or you can find it by right-clicking on a logo posted on their website
- Keep in mind that any image provided by the client will be better quality (e.g., not right-clicking on a picture from their website)
- The vertical, condensed version of the logo is recommended
- Go to the Green House Canva account (find access information on the passwords page)
- Click on Projects > Green House Website (folder) > Portfolio Featured Images
- Scroll to the end, duplicate the previous page, and delete any previous logo on the duplicate
- Name the page your client's name
- Upload the client's logo and be sure to size it consistently with previous logos (most of the box with a little margin on the sides)
- Be careful not to distort logo dimensions during this process
- With the logo selected, right-click Align to page > Center & Middle
- Select the logo > Edit > Effects > Duotone > Custom > Highlights: White > Shadows: White
- Please follow this step even if the logo is already white!
- Click Share > Download > Select pages > Current page > Download
- Navigate back to the Wordpress article > Select featured image > Upload files > Select Files
- Select the Canva download, write [Client Name] Logo for Title, Caption, and Description
- Click Set featured image
- Click Save
Step 3. Create the portfolio on Elementor
- Click Edit with Elementor (top of page)
- Click the folder icon in the Drag widget here box > Templates > Single Portfolio > Insert > Apply
- Go through the template and fill out information with the company information.
Be sure to change:- Company name
- Description boxes
- Buttons, including their links (open in new window)
- The logo(s)
- The photo (be sure to attatch links)
- Testimonial
- About, Challenge, Solution, Key Results sections (keep them condensed)
- Click Publish
Step 4. Organize elements in Wordpress
- Go back to Wordpress > Media
- Add the logo or other pictures for the client into the correct folder
- To do this for a new client, you may need to make a new folder called [Client Name]
- After doing this, Unassigned Files should read 0
- Add the logo or other pictures for the client into the correct folder
- Go back to the Portfolio window
- Click Quick Edit and make sure all information looks correct
- Make the Date whatever date your team finished the client
- Be sure to select the correct Portfolio Categories depending on what package was provided
- Click Update
- Go back into the article, and scroll to Meta descriptions section (bottom of page)
- Update the Focus Keyphrase, Title, Slug, and Meta description, in the SEO tab just like you would for a normal page
- Copy the Title and Meta description to the Social tab
- Select the same image (Canva-edited logo)
- Click Save
