How to write and optimize website page content

1. Write the Content

Step 1: Locate the Pages folder inside the client website development folder.

Step 2: Right click in the empty space, hover over the small arrow next to Google Docs, and select "From a template". Select "Website Page Content - TEMPLATE"

Step 3: Name the page to match the content development tracking sheet as well as your Miro site map.

Step 4: Skip the Meta information at the top and start at the hero section. Write the content with the use of AI. Use your critical thinking skills. AI is a great starting point, but refine it until it sounds natural and provides the website visitor with correct and revlevant information. If you have meetings notes and a messaging guide to help you, imput that into AI!

Note: The hero section is the first thing you see at the top of the page. Notice that the dividers on the template are meant to divide out different sections. This will make more sense once you start building on Elementor.

Step 5: Add links to your photos that live inside the drive. You and your team will want to know where to go to download these photos when it is time to upload them to the website.

Tip: Structure all the service pages in a similar fashion. When it comes time to build the pages on the website, you can duplicate the page structure and change out the information for the other services.

2. Optimize the Content

After you've writen the content, it is time to optimize it for SEO.

Step 1: With the help of your keyword research that has already been conducted, locate the best keyword to represent your page. Do additional research if needed.

Note: The keyword you choose for your page is especially important for low funnel pages such as service pages. These will be highly searched low funnel keywords that are highly relevent such as "orthodontist near me".

Pages such the schedule a consulation page, about page, meet the team, etc won't require as much keyword research since these pages won't be searched - instead will be found through discovery once a person is already on your website. Examples: The about page keyword can be "about [company name]". The keyword just needs to be highly relevent to the content on the page.

Step 2: Make sure this keyword you've selected is within the meta title, meta description, and the H1 title in the hero.

Step 3: Sprinkle this keyword throughout your page. Aim to have that keyword in your page about 7 times.

Note: We care more about making the page sound good than we do about shoving the keyword in any spot we can put it. If you can't fit it in 7 times, then that is ok.

Step 4: Update the content development tracker sheet to reflect that your page is ready to be reviewed!
